Homebuyers Program

 

Thank you for your interest in our Homebuyer’s Assistance Program at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte. It is our desire to help you purchase a home.

This may be an individual, a family or extended family that reside under the same roof. 

Please review the criteria required before applying for this program.   

1. Must be a member of Steele Creek Church of Charlotte or have previously or currently participated in SCCC temporary housing program.                                             

2. Must be 21 years or older.

3.  Participants must go through the interview process and qualify.  

4. Must have full-time employment at current job for minimum of 6 months.

5. Must go through a housing program/coaching with Self-Help C.U, (certified by SCCC) and complete the program, meeting financial requirements determined by Self-Help CU and other established goals. 

6. Are you willing to save money and share financial information. 

7. Must be a legal citizen of the USA. 

8. If married must be able to verify. Unmarried couples will not be able to participate. Marriage defined by SCCC as one man and one woman.

9. Management team handles the day-to-day function and operation of this program.

10.  An advisory board (currently Ron Leeper & Larry Lacivita) under the foundation will oversee the homebuyer’s program and manage the selection process.

11. A potential homebuyer’s total household income will not exceed $80,000 if single or $125,000 if married to receive MATCHING FUNDS from the SCCC Homebuyer’s program.

12. Matching funds from SCCC homebuyer’s program can be provided on a $1.00 to $1.00 saved basis up to a maximum of $7,500.00. The gift be applied as part of down payment and/or closing cost associated with the home purchase; however, if the purchase should not close, then the gift will be returned to the church’s homebuyers program.

13. Bankruptcy: minimum of two years since the bankruptcy, with two years of re-established credit and no late payments or default.

14. If you currently own a home, you are not eligible for this program and you can’t make application for someone other than yourself.
