Abel and Christa have been missionaries for over twenty years, eleven of which have been in Kenya. Both have years of theological and cross-cultural missions training. Nurmay Missions was founded by Abel in 2008. The name Nurmay comes from the Swahili, Nuru kwa Makabila Yote, which means “Light for All Tribes." The vision of Nurmay is to reach the unreached tribes, including Muslims, with the Gospel of Christ. To that end they have various projects in effect.

Nurmay Missions plants churches in areas where there are no other Christian churches. Masalani Community Church was started in 2009. The church is growing and thriving with more than 100 members. It remains the only Christian church in the predominantly Muslim village. There is now a new church meeting in the Mwakirunge dumpsite. The church is comprised of new Christians that gave their lives to Jesus through door-to-door evangelism and benevolence projects.

Many people in remote areas have accepted Christ through watching THE JESUS FILM for the first time in their native language. In these remote areas with new converts Nurmay also has a discipleship program to teach and disciple these new Christians. The Water Project has blessed hundreds of people by providing clean water to the drought-stricken community of Gotani.

Since 2016 Nurmay Christian Academy has built a reputation for being one of the best schools in Gotani. Enrollment continues to increase as parents from all religions bring their children to NCA. The families are also blessed through home visits and other extracurricular activities. Many parents have given their lives to Jesus through the ministry of the school. In addition to receiving an excellent Christian education, the students are served two nutritious meals per day at school.

The Missionary Training and Empowerment Center (MiTEC) is underway training Africans for Africa, equipping them to take their part in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Here African men and women are trained, equipped, and sent out to reach the unreached tribes for Jesus.
