Rolf Buehler

God’s Word in people’s own language really does speak into their lives in a life-changing way!

Wycliffe Bible Translators‘ work is all about people who don‘t yet have a Bible, but it’s more than just producing Scripture. When people finally get Scripture in their own language, lives often change in amazing ways. People are transformed as they discover Jesus Christ and enter into a relationship with God.

For example Pastor Jeremy speaks the Ngbugu language in Central African Republic (CAR). However, he had always prayed and preached only in French and Sango, languages widely used in CAR, but not necessarily people’s heart-languages. Some time ago, the Ngbugu Bible translators taught him to read in his own language. Eventually, he agreed to preach in Ngbugu for the first time but was totally unprepared for what happened next! Fifteen people came to the Lord, amongst them the village’s main witch-doctor, who often came to church but had never given up his sorcery practices. But this time he repented and renounced sorcery.

The Central African Republic is a nation of about 5 million people, speaking somewhere between 60 and 100 languages, right in the heart of Africa. Open doors exist in two dozen languages to translate God’s word in the languages people understand best.

Rolf’s role in administration, finance management, and project funding is indispensable in order for Bible translation work to happen in CAR and enables people’s lives to be changed by the power of God’s living word.

Buehler’s have been a part of the Steele Creek family since 2014 and Rolf works for Central Africa out of Charlotte in a dispersed team.
