Shannon & Lindsay Shores

Word to Africa

Shannon and Lindsay Shores have been serving in Botswana for over 9 years and have seen the Lord do some amazing things. They have focused the majority of their ministry on reaching the youth and families and building the Church in their home village of Lobatse. Here they have established a wonderful connection with the community where they see the Gospel having a great impact as they make disciples through a relationship-based ministry.

The Shoreses have established a youth center called “Urban Rhythm” that is open 5 days a week for young people to just come in and hang out. Though they come for the social activity, the Shoreses and their team ensure the youth leave with love and the knowledge of who Christ is. Their Friday Night and Saturday afternoon youth services have impacted many and are growing consistently as they reach the young people with the Gospel in a very relevant way. Using original worship songs in the musical genres of hip-hop and house/dance music, as well as interactive games and a relational teaching model, they are reaching many and seeing lives transformed.

They are also using the Reach 4 Life curriculum (a Christian discipleship-based abstinence program) to build clubs in the local schools and have clubs in six schools thus far. It has been a great access point into the schools and into the lives of the students. Many of these students are beginning to connect with the Shoreses and become members of the Church as well.

The Shoreses are blessed now with a great team of young talented Motswana who they have led to the Lord, discipled and trained to reach the lost in their own community. Their internship program has sent out trained disciples to be teachers, pilots, businessmen and other occupations.
